CASFIL continues its commitment to biodiversity

Since 2023, CASFIL has been a HECTARE Patron of FUTURO – The 100,000 Trees Project, contributing to the restoration of native forests and the enhancement of biodiversity in the Porto Metropolitan Area.

 

The latest results highlight the scale of the work carried out through this initiative. Between October 2011 and December 2025, the FUTURO Project planted 149,844 native trees across the Porto Metropolitan Area, with the participation of 25,567 volunteers in tree-planting activities and ecosystem restoration initiatives.

 

CASFIL's commitment has also translated into direct action on the ground. In December 2024, company employees took part in an ecological restoration activity at Sara Moreira Urban Park, in Santo Tirso, turning environmental responsibility into a practical and shared experience.

 

The FUTURO Project's activities also extend to environmental education and awareness among younger generations. During the 2025/2026 cycle, the RELI project involved 18 local schools in invasive species control activities, as well as field-based identification and mapping sessions.

 

This is a commitment that CASFIL intends to continue strengthening by encouraging community involvement in native forest restoration and biodiversity enhancement, helping to create a more sustainable and resilient future for generations to come.
